Good write up, but it is bad practice to just squeeze the pistons in and let the fluid go into the master. Especially ABS cars are sensitive to having the ABS pump back flushed like that and some of the Volvo master cylinders were prone to having their master cylinder seals turned inside out when you do it like that.

Connect a hose to the bleed nipple, dangle it in some brake fluid, open the nipple and then squeeze the pistons in. Once they're in close the nipple.
