The 3CD cassette from my old one was in good condition and worked just fine in this, so absence of one has been absolutely no problem.

Sorted! A big thanks and thumbs up to Macclesfield Garages who sold it and sent it to me - nice one.

The old one had a fault where intermittently it would stop playing FM radio. AM radio and CD were fine, it just went silent on FM until you went over a bump then it'd come back on, then another bump and it'd go off. I thoroughly cleaned all the plugs at the back but no difference, I could reproduce the fault by tapping the case with a small hammer, so almost certainly a bad contact or solder joint somewhere, so I tried getting inside it to fix it but although I'm normally quite good at that sort of thing this one beat me. I figured that I'd probably break something if I tried to get deep inside it, so this replacement one has sorted me out with relatively little hassle in the end.

Cheers all!
very lucky , that's an absolute bargain ..

whats a brand new un used one worth i wonder ? These were £600 exchange when you could get them .. maybe you still can ..
