I tried something similar with an old brake disc and a bit of welding. It was a waste of time - I bought the expensive gucci Volvo special tool. It is so expensive I've considered putting it on a gold braided red cushion in its own backlight glass box...
...perhaps I could add in the sound of singing angels when I open the door to get it out
