When i had a similar noise.. the problem was in the alternator overrun pulley..if it is this, it may make more noise if you blip the throttle & make it freewheel ?

I had my Son to put the car in drive with brakes on and listened to it and the clicking was louder and more frequent, going to release belt today and check it all out.
