Around 1996 some models had OBD2 port but wasn't full ccompatible so cars needed a old flash reader via a OBD2 connector. I'm no hexpert but reading lots of threads this home made route is the only option apart from visiting the main dealer.

This batch is the first time I seen them being aviable so grab it while you can.

@filthyRichards its a simple flash reader in code which you can find a list on 700/900 F&Q
