I changed my rear brake pads (V50 T5 AWD) a couple of months back and found none of the adaptors in my brake pad kit (similar to that in the photos posted above) fitted the piston indents.

I don't know if Ford/ Volvo used an unusual size?

In the end I resorted to long nose pliers inserted into the piston indents. Not easy to get enough leverage to rotate the piston back in the caliper. Not fun but did the job.
