Brian - your March post - did you fix this ?
I have a similar problem to that of Brian in March - found his post when looking in the (read only) archives, so copied it here.
? Brian! Did you solve this prob ? - or anyone else with ideas.
Problem: lamda light comes only for a second or two and engine stumbles, then recovers. Usually when in slow traffic / on overun. No probs at motorway speeds. Happens infrequently - maybe once/twice a week.
My 107K milage 850 2.5 GLT 20v went just went thru MOT no probs with co2 reading (or anything else). Just had a main dealer service, who were advised of the prob, and who replaced the rotor arm & dizzy cap thinking this would fix it (fair enough, bits were prob. pretty worn at this milage.)
I now think its fuel/mixture/sensor related, and the stumble is to do with engine management, rather than an electrical fault on the spark side (so not inclined to replace the leads...)
Any advice gratefully received - looked thru some of the other car forums without success Richard

"Cutting out"
A couple of months ago, I was travelling along the dual carrigeway at 70mph, when for a split second, the lambda light came on and the engine died, but only for about half a second and everything was fine again. It never did it again until today, when it did it twice within ten minutes. It was at slower speeds and the engine cut out altogether. As soon as I knocked it into neutral (it's an auto) and turned the key it fired up straight away. I drove about another fifteen miles but it never did it again, but now, of course, I'm holding my breath all the time incase it does it again.
Anybody any ideas? It drives fine with no warning lights 99% of the time.
It's going in to get plugged into the computer later this week, but any help would be appreciated.
