Most likely the little thermistor located behind the vent has been broken by some over eager cleaner thinking it was a bit of dirt. The thermistor is the temperature sensor.

Get a replacement CCM from a wrecker, with an intact thermistor, and replace yours.

Of course, you should clean out any dust and dirt from the vents and fans whilst you have your’s apart...
