Thanks for the feedback and the view on the cost/benefit not really being there, though for 42 notes I might still go for one.
The itinerary is going 'around' Switzerland. So out from Blighty and through Belgium/Luxembourg and then stopping in Heidelberg. Then onto Upper Austria for nearly a week. Head south to Lake Garda (last time the horn failed and I really missed it) for a night then to Sirmione for several. The return trip is via some friends in the French Alps and finally an overnight stay at Langres until back home in the UK.
I've done this trip three times already or at least a variation on a theme. Fingers crossed
