Just to clarify, the injector leaking is usually very slow to the point that it will take several hours/a day to cause a problem, so you would need to usually leave it overnight and then start the car up when the weather is warm, such as after mid-day. It's hard to get a conclusive result in British winter.
Re-starting when the engine is hot is usually not enough time for any serious amount of fuel to leak from the injectors.
This is the most common cause of rough running that only happens for the first couple of seconds after startup, other than glowplug related faults. If you are sure that your glowplugs and glowplug controller are good.
Another (less common on D5) cause of this can be coolant leaking past the head gasket and getting into cylinders when the car is left for a few hours so you get the rough running for the first couple of second as the coolant is cleared out
