to share, not all dynamat product is designed for under bonnet installation. i looked into flammability testing of sound deadening product a couple of years ago when i fully lined the MGBV8, dynamat and some other products came out top of the list approvals-wise.

I've done some digging about and have found the fire safety approval standard that these products are meant to reach

It depends how you look at it but I'm not too impressed.
Each product is allowed to catch fire within a time frame of 15 seconds when exposed to a naked flame. The rate of burning is then measured. A rate of burning and travel of the flame must be limited to a distance of 105mm.
If the flame stops burning within 60 seconds and travels no further than 51mm it is considered to be OK.

Essentially this standard is aimed at people smoking in cars so it is only concerned with the effects of naked flames. It ignores heat sources such as engines and exhausts and perhaps overheating wiring (!)
