I have now just removed the whole window and was a bit shocked with what I found. The metal where seal sits is all pitted and there are small rust holes all the way along with a big hole at the rear end of the window.
I also have some rust around the front windscreen so will be removing it as well to fix the rust.
The rest of my 245 is pretty good so it's well worth repairing as its the best general purpose car I've ever owned.
