Ok so managed to fix it but could have made it a little easier for myself. if you use this on eBay item:251985669516 then cut as close to the flange on both sides this will work a treat. Access is limited with a grinder in this area and had to use a junior hacksaw to finish the last quarter on both cuts. If you can split the joint before you cut then you can unbolt the back box to cut the flange on this side so much easier. However the bolts are a PITA to take out due to corrosion and I ended up shearing one. So left it in situ and went the hacksaw route.
