Thanks again for you're insightful responses, and that's about the conclusion I'm arriving at. Although it looks like the whole eye on each shocker that's twisted.
I'd move from Gwynedd to mid Powys (silly me), there was one bend in particular with that high friction light-tan coloured road-surfacing that had been eroded away to expose quite pronounced striation-ridges across the road, gradient and bend. Driving over this sounded like and felt a pneumatic drill. High volume of artics traveling that road going north/south in mid Wales and being some 500 foot above sea-level at that location and high rain-fall so too snow-fall. I'm back in Gwynedd where the roads are so much better and at long-last I can get to work on the car. Only I crack a rib a week or so back didn't know till it next morning so have had to go easy, but tomorrow I'm going to attack the jobs that need attention. I'm in mind to take photos and contact that County's road department.
I have a full set of Sarchs shocks to fit, had them for over a year and now I can finally get the job done...hopefully.

Here's the location, proceed down the road, the condition on the bend is worse these days...
