So I had the swirl flaps replaced with no dramas. The mechanic said the assembly opened and closed fine so the only issue was the oil leak from the gasket.
The flaps looked a bit oily (as per photos) but thats about it.
The mechanic also replaced the fuel filter as I couldn't undo the housing. I don't have the special tool and the oil filter strap didn't work.
All in all I'm happy with the servicing I've done since having the car (2 weeks) with oil, air, fuel and cabin filters changed and both belts looking fine.
