And a little more hope this morning, I started the car to take it down to the local garage who did the last service, it is less than 1/4 mile away.
It had not been driven since Saturday afternoon, I was able to select reverse and driving in forward gears was quite smooth. The Transmission Power Low warning light did come on as I tried to put it into reverse outside the garage to test it but I am now hopeful that no major damage has been done to the gearing etc.
Just awaiting their observations now.
Also been in touch with Sigtrans who do seem to be very helpful. I have located a couple of highly recommended DSG/Powershift box specialists in this area but Sigtrans will collect and deliver if need be.
