If you put winter tyres on that XC60 it will perform better than your 2wd vehicles. There is a clip where they tested the same vehicle (in 2wd and 4wd guises) on an indoor ski slope and, as you would expect, the summer tyres were worst, the winter tyres (on the 2wd model) were better and the same winter tyres on the 4wd model allowed it to reach the top of the slope.
