What do you mean by
a genuine 17" wheel and tyre? I paid a Volvo dealer three times that amount just for the stupid skinny spare thing. Why Volvo don't provide adequate storage for a full size spare I really don't know. I've NEVER in 50 years of car ownership had to use one of these silly compact spares nor the even worse can of gunge. I'd have expected better from Volvo. What the hell do serious Volvo users in hostile climates and terrain use for a spare? It's my only serious criticism of my CX70. If I can find a cheap matching full size alloy wheel for a spare, I'll fix it in the rear cargo area and put up with the reduced load space on long journeys.
