Default XC70 2002 grinding/sliding on full lock

Hello,

I recently picked up a bit of a project car , with some minor issues that I hope to work through.

I have not had much time to drive/look at this car yet, only driven it home and around locally to try and get a feel for the problem.

firstly, it seems to pull quite noticeably to the right, when braking, I have (only visually) inspected the pads and discs, they all appear quite good, the car has extensive service history.(albeit almost every single service from a standard garage, none volvo, or volvo specialist) i can see a lot of meat on all the pads. although I have not (yet) had the wheels off and inspected the calipers.

secondly, on full right lock, at slow speeds it really grinds, not a metal grinding sound, but it FEELS like the front wheel is being pushed forward, rather than wanting to turn, I cannot confirm yet, but it's a difficult sensation to explain, it almost always does this when on full lock to the right, and SOMETIMES but not always does this when turning left. inspecting both inner arch liners I can not see any wear/damage, as i initially theorized about perhaps wheel turning in too far.

overall the steering and suspension feels a little strange, possibly just because i am not used to this car, or maybe something else. inspecting the tyres, the offside EDGE of the NEARSIDE front wheel is very worn, and the NEARSIDE edge of the NEARSIDE rear tyre is also worn, overall it will need new tyres are they're all very low.

I will take another good look tomorrow in the light (as it's getting a bit too dark here now) and report back with findings.

however advise is appreciated

-Matt
