Mentioned it to OH and she now keeps it in 5th more often and MPG has improved. 3500 miles around Italy this summer averaged around 43. Anecdotal but I think the 6th gear is a little too long and causes the car to labour more than it should.
Tyres can make 1-2mpg - I noticed this improvement when swapping Pirelli Scorpion Verde (not all season) for Nokian Weatherproofs.

Interesting so what speed in 6th is most efficient? 70/75/80?
Not sure where nearest shell garage is mostly run Sainsbury’s fuel as best price and pass frequently some times Asda or esso/BP.....
18 conti at the moment nokian on 17”rims for winter and the change in circumference May effect the computer.....
