I changed the oil in mine when I bought and tipped to the max mark. I drove like that for 6,000 miles and then changed (2/3rds if the way).
My 90 had no problems and I have never had levels ride.
That said, whilst I do 2 or 3 short trips at the weekend my weekday commute is always 30 miles plus each way.
