Hiya lads.

I drive a VOLVO S40 SE, 2005.

Tonight I was driving, accidentally shifted into 1st from 5th as I was decelerating into a roundabout. Car jolted and there was a loud bang sound. I was then unable to get my car into gear and had to be towed home by my parents.

Not quite sure what kind of damage I've caused, and any insight into how expensive or how difficult it would be to solve myself would be highly appreciated.
