I would of started with 1200 and soap, the bars of sunlight laundry soap I found effective. With 800 I fear you are putting scratches in that you have to then take out. It will undoubtedly take longer starting with 1200 but I belive the results would be better.
Finish with G3 cutting compound or Tee cut.
Not seen the UK reflective sprays but it seems something to consider.
