I had the one (both old and new) with wider cone, top photo.
I'd think difference wasn't greater than 1mm. Just enough to make it difficult to push in.
Anyway, that's on hold for a while.

Got to sort out other things first.
Priorities:
Move (find) home.
Defend allotment (some legalities, thread in lounge)
Fix suspension.
Find camping holiday in France (after all that I will need some break)
