This and bursting airbags and leaks and valves is why, after having several vehicles with air suspension, is why I specified a mechanically sprung XC90. Because if I wanted to keep it long term it would be far cheaper to maintain in working order.
Not against air suspension as such. It has great benefits in some situations. It makes it easier for the infirm to climb in and out of tall cars. It increases ground clearance for off-roading. Plus….errr….umm, that's about it realistically as far as 'significant' benefits go.
