I've not personally tested the eAWD system however I do expect that in many circumstances it would be better for the following reasons :

- It can easily apply power to any of the wheels through the motors, the mechanical AWD systems can only apply power to heavy axles.

- Mechanical AWD systems are prone to cross-axle (i.e. just one wheel spins via the differential) and this is not an issue with eAWD. The cross axle is controlled on Haldex via the traction control system applying the brakes to the spinning but that's not an efficient, agile or totally effective way.

- Mechanical AWD systems are heavy and reduce economy in general, and create frictional drag even when not in use.

By the way just noticed where you're from - Aarhus - I have many fond (and blurred) memories of being mostly drunk in the nightclub under the Atlantic Hotel when I was working out there in 2005... I think it was called Kupe?
