I’ve been caught like this in the past. First time I encountered a front wheel bearing problem was on my daughter’s Ford Orion ( the first FWD car I had worked on.) I asked around and was advised that it would be the bearing which was loaded when cornering. ie cornering left so it will be the right hand side bearing. Wrong, it was the unloaded bearing which increased in noise. I only found out after replacing the wrong bearing, so then I had to replace the other one.
