Have been a member of camping and caravan club for many years now, the membership is worth it for the breakdown cover, being the only driver if incapacitated for any reason they supply a driver to get the car and van home amongst other benefits.
I joined many years ago when we camped as a family. Camp sites vary greatly in standard and when the other end of the country it was difficult to ascertain exactly what the standard was pretty internet days.
I found no matter where in the country I went the standard of CCC sites was always exemplary in comparison to some commercial sites that despite paying a deposit we refused to stay on. First thing wife did when we arrived was visit the toilet block, more than one failed her examination and we moved on, pretty booked or not.
Caravan has the advantage of being self contained compared with a tent.
