1 less flexing/general movement of the engine/gearbox so also the exhaust assembly
2 a bit more engine vibration throughout the car
3 a bit more engine noise in the cabin
Anyone able to comment - Classicswede?

It has been said in the forum that, the "soft" mounts allow the engine and transmission to slide under the occupants compartment in the event of a crash impact.
Volvo might regard that as safety.
P.S. I haven't crawled under the jam jar to inspect but I think the relevant mounting of my car's exhaust in the engine/bellhousing area might allow the exhaust to slide. I'm not convinced but that might be so.
