Not had this problem but seen it reported in forum threads to cause hesitation and slight 'misfire' symptoms.
If this is a VEA the the recent 'deforming manifold' recall including cleaning of the EMAP and TMAP sensor assemblies (which I had assumed meant that the associated pipe was cleaned).
