I had an intermittent fault on the SAS for quite some time. It would initially only come up if you left the car on full lock. VIDA confirmed that it was the SAS that was throwing up the fault. I lived with it as it was only full lock. The problem become worse and would come up if the wheel was left dead centre as well. Then I got am airbag light up as well and got the error codes SRS-0014 and SRS-0101. Vida indicated that these can also be down to the contact reel, which is where the SAS is located in my year (2005 D5) so I replaced that but these 2 codes remained along with the warning light on the dash. I then decided to try a different airbag to see if that was the problem but the codes still remain.
As far as I can tell it only leaves either the wiring loom or the module. Is the module plug and play or do I need to try the repair route.
I have to do someth8mg as the MOT is due this month and a non extinguished airbag light is a failure.
