No one yet has mentioned this in the "causes of" but the main thing getting problems with these switches is because rain falls onto the switch when getting in and out the car`s and owners don`t hurry they just let the door panel and everything else get wet.
So a good precaution after the switches have been cleaned for further prevention is to check they don`t get wet and the rain run`s in them to corrode all over again.
