I do find the brakes a little 'wooden', which I believe is down to the regenerative braking system setup in the T8 (correct me if I'm wrong) but can't say I've noticed more pedal travel than my last car or my wife's car (both BMWs).
On the issue of B drive mode, although it does help braking, isn't its primary function to help add charge back to the battery without use of the brakes? I recall the manual seemed to predominately mention this.
