The brake setup on a T8 are is completely different to a D5 and T6 engine xc90,

The brake pedal on a T8 has no direct connection to the brake servo until it is almost on the floor, it uses the electric motor in the rear axle for the majority of the braking even when in D but it can just be felt more when in B,

The pedal has a actuator that is ment to mimic a real pedal although in reality it is nothing like,

You do have to alter your driving style slightly with a hybrid to get the most out of it
