Default Mystery squeak

There’s an intermittent squeak from somewhere, possibly the back seat or the right of the boot.

I’ve had this 62 plate XC60 D5 AWD for a few months now.

It seems to occur at random, often going over a bridge where the carriageway is wooden slats, but not always. Sometimes when the load is on the right rear, not always. Sometimes over a pothole, not always. In fact I can drive a stretch of road, Turin and go back to do it again and the squeak won’t happen at all the second time.

I’d say it sounds a bit like panpipes, but possibly rusty ones.

I’ve looked at the forums and am not sure it’s the boot catch squeak (testing this weekend), but it also seems to be noticeable inside the car not outside, which suggests something internal.

Any ideas?

Or any recommendations for central Scotland garages that might diagnose and fix rather than make a guess and lighten my wallet without solving it?
