Hi Clan,
I understand that the plug locks when charging but the flap itself can be opened by anyone (e.g. kids messing about) at any time.
I have looked into how safe the charging port on the car is when not in use and there is no data from manufactures. I hold some electrical knowledge and it seems rather unusual to have exposed pins, it doesn't fill me with much confidence.
