If you get the D5 AWD I think the towing weights are 2.0t for manual, 2.2t for automatic. This is because the maximum towing weight is based on what they car can reliably set off from rest on a 10% gradient...

As has been said the 80% caravan weight rule is a good "rule of thumb" but not law... it has to some extent been surpassed by trailer stability aids, traction/ stability control and self leveling suspension. There is still no substitute however for a safe, thoughtful, considerate driver.

If you get it - make sure it has genuine Volvo towbar electrics fitted - that way the trailer stability assist (TSA) program will be activated when you hook up.
