Best to buy an EV and keep your proper Volvo as a long distance/weekend car.
You wont have much of an emotional attachment to the EV in the same way you don't have an emotional attachment to a cordless drill, but you WILL be saving huge amounts of money in fuel.
I'm not a fan of EVs but in this climate it's hard to argue against owning EV and internal combustion for longer journeys.
