You have to be a bit careful about braking stability - a 1/16 of an inch might not be a big deal - and I could be flapping about nothing but I think this is something you need to consider before changing parts.
Have you considered a brake booster system instead?
A change in cylinder diameter might not be what you want to achieve in terms of effort anyway.
