Not quite. I will explain. My options were (or are):-
1. Volvo warranty was extended on the part to 5 years so I could have 50% paid by Volvo and pay the other 50% myself. We tried for goodwill from Volvo to make up to 100% but got a flat "no".
2. Go to aftermarket warranty for 100%.
Option 2 has worked out as the warranty company has authorised the repair and authorised the full amount. Part is now on back order and they are being quoted August earliest. Car is challenging to drive but I am kind of getting the hang of it.
So at this point my £599 is looking like the best investment ever. However I will only believe it when I have a working car and paperwork which says nothing to pay. I have no reason to think they will renege on the authorisation but I just never believe a deal until it is done.
