Thank you for the extremely helpful advice to lock my V90 with the key thus avoiding the alarm sensors being on. Now why didn't I think of that!? I tried it today whilst on my drive and sure enough it worked although the key needed to turn 1/4 turn clockwise to lock then anticlockwise to unlock which is opposite to what it says at page 2:00 in the manual!! Still, all OK and am looking forward to my next ferry crossing! Thanks guys.
