The dual carbs I have will not fit under my boat's engine cowling. The setup needed is going on a Penta boat motor to replicate the one pictured in my original post. Due to its bulky marine-only exhaust system, what I need is a single-carb separate intake...I was assuming this would be a cast aluminum item similar to the dual SU intake. The intake shown in the photo may have been marine-only feature as well: a single angled Stromberg on an aluminum intake. I have never seen one of these on an automobile, but thought perhaps in Europe...? I would prefer to use a Stromberg, if possible.
The intake/exhaust posted by 940_Turbo (often called the "combo" manifold), is seen in the US (on the 1968 B20A equipped 122/140?) and I suppose it could be cut in half, but I am not that desperate.
Was the early B18A downdraught mounted on an aluminum or an iron manifold? Either way, one of these 36VN Zenith setup would fit and could be a good substitute to use for my marine B18. Do you have one of these?
