Default For Sale - 1978 Volvo 245- £3.5K, open to offers. Cambridge.

All,

Ah well, it's been fun (and a mountain of time, effort and not to mention money) and I will definitely miss it, but I think it's time to sell my 245 Estate on to someone who can drive and use it more than I have had a chance to. The car is fully useable as-is and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere, but It is a bit shabby in appearance with some rust blemishes coming through a previous poor quality respray.

If you're interested, then it'd make sense to read through my project thread (linked below) as there's a lot of detail in the thread, but in summary:

Tax and MOT free 1978 245DL
5 speed gearbox
power steering
Full leather interior
320,000 miles

Extensive recommission over the last two years including
All new brakes
Full engine service including cambelt and setting valve clearances
new heater matrix and fan
Refurbished fuel tank and NOS sender
Swap from points distributor to later distributor with ignition amplifier
Extensive welding completed

Heap of parts I haven't got around to fitting - listed in the project thread

Optional parts available at additional cost that a buyer will have first refusal on:
A weber 34/32 dtml that has been jetted to suit a B21A engine on a dyno (with rebuild kit)
90K engine (which I acquired with the 90K gearbox I fitted to the car).

I’m fully aware that I won’t get back what I’ve spent on it, as a guide I’m looking for around £3.5k – if you’re more keen to buy it than I am to sell it, please do get in touch. If you think it’s worth less then feel free to send me an offer.

The car is located in Cambridge but I live in London, so viewings will have to take place during weekends I'm afraid.

Cheers

I realised I don't have many recent pictures of the car, (and it's a bit dirty in the picture below!) I'll take some more this weekend.
