I normally drive with the radio on, and consequently I have not noticed any difference in noise levels. Also I have not had to adjust the volume either way!
If you normally drive with no radio / cd etc playing, then you may notice a small change in noise level, but it will be very minor. The benefits of the WR G2 would easily outweigh any noise issue!
As Truckbus has said, if you do not need the tyres right now, wait a bit and it is likely that prices will drop somewhat in a few months. I bought my Nokians when they were relatively cheap and put them on months later when I actually needed the new rubber!
