Had the misfortune to have my (ancient) sat nav stolen recently, and was wondering whether it's worth establishing what the original model number was and try to replace it, or whether it's possible to have the (factory-fitted?) bracket (fixed to the A pillar) upgraded to take a new model.

Any experiences or suggestions to share?
