You can get a harness for the dog that fastens to one of the seatbelts. The idea is to prevent the dog getting launched into a passenger should you be in an accident.
We transported a smaller dog (collie x) this way in an s60 before kids arrived and had to swap to a v70 as couldn’t fit the pram in the s60 boot.
