OP.
The DTC code does indeed refer to the internal solenoid.
The CAUSE of the DTC code will be..
1. The solenoid inside the strut has failed.
2. The wiring from the baulkhead to the bottom of the strut has failed.
3. The accelerometer has failed.
If it were my car the first thing i`d do is be absolutely certain the cabling to the base of the strut is sound. Then i`d replace the accelerometer as it`s the least expensive option. Failing that , i`d replace the strut.
