No real benefit, a lock/unlock operation is a "single shot" use of power and then the alarm is using quiescent current while the car is parked. This is negligible, certainly in normal use and a similar amount of current will be drawn whether the alarm is armed or not. Yes, it will be marginally higher whilst armed but not significantly so.

The downside of not arming the alarm is if your car is stolen, the insurance company is likely to not pay out with their argument being you hadn't taken all reasonable steps to prevent its theft.

You indicate that you'll be using the car to go to the shops, when you do make sure it's a reasonable sort of run (not just a mile there and back) so the battery has a chance to get some charge in it.
