One of my dog guard gas struts failed, which seems to be a common problem based on other posts on here. But, as I don't actually have a dog, I didn't really want to spend much money on replacing it and considered removing the guard instead. However, I found
these gas struts at the very reasonable price of £1.79 each, so I have fitted an 80Nm version and it works fine.
