To me its simple - if before you had 30MPH with 2k revs, and now you have 30MPH with 3k revs on the same gear, its either:
a) your clutch is slipping constantly
b) your gearbox/final ratio magically changed while car was in service

Took the car back for its first 500 mile check (after clutch fitted). They said it is slipping badly! So I asked the garage to change it instead of going back to the original garage and charge it back (it's a chain of garages). I was told that the supplier had mislabelled the parts so they fitted the wrong clutch! I hope there is no downstream damage as a result... anyway, its back in getting the right clutch fitted now... i hope. Thanks for all the comments and advice !!
